Civilizational Pluralism Changes the Rules of the Game

The postulate is based on an interview with Ruben Gali.

Ruben Gali is a Mexican culturologist and futures researcher specializing in strategic foresight and analysis of AI’s impact on Latin American culture. On the platform «Futurating» he acts as an expert, developing dialogue between regions and promoting the preservation of human identity in the age of automation.

For a long time, global thought developed within a rigid linear paradigm. It was believed that the world was moving toward a single, unified model of development dictated by technological and economic centers of power. However, today it becomes clear that this concept has exhausted itself. The future of humanity cannot be monolithic. The era of global unification is being replaced by an era of genuine civilizational pluralism, where the 21st century will belong not to a single dominant narrative, but to a multitude of distinct cultures capable of conducting an equal dialogue.

Multipolarity is not just a geopolitical term; it is a new quality of humanity’s collective intelligence. When one civilizational model tries to impose its standards on the rest of the world, it inevitably impoverishes the planet’s common intellectual and cultural heritage. In the face of global crises, humanity’s survival depends on the diversity of approaches to solving problems. Latin America, Russia, Asia, and other regions possess unique philosophical and historical traditions that offer alternative paths of development, not reducible to standard Western templates.

The ideal image of the coming world is not isolated blocks, but a «luminous bridge» spanning between civilizations. The essence of this postulate lies in the ability to connect worlds while fully preserving and respecting their internal differences. In such a future, technological progress does not erase national identity; on the contrary, it serves as a platform for its deep expression. We are moving toward a world where multipolarity (многополярность) will become synonymous with sustainability, and the harmonious coexistence of different cultural codes will allow humanity to design a more balanced, flexible, and equitable tomorrow.
