The future of the country is shaped in the regions

By the early 2030s, Russia’s regions had become independent centers of future development. The country moved away from the habit of viewing growth only through a few major cities. In every federal district, territories emerged with their own profile: industrial, agricultural, tourist, scientific, cultural, logistical, or educational. People increasingly chose not to relocate at any cost, but to live where there is work, quality environment, strong schools, healthcare, digital services, and a sense of belonging.

The new regional growth was not uniform for everyone. The North developed logistics, energy, and technologies for harsh climates. The South strengthened agro-industry, tourism, creative industries, and sanatorium medicine. The Volga region and the Urals became industrial and engineering hubs. Siberia and the Far East combined resources, science, transport corridors, and cities of a new quality. The key was that each region began to speak about itself in the language of the future, not just the language of problems.

Territories begin to speak the language of opportunities

The roadmap began with an honest description of the territories’ strengths. Regions collected data on enterprises, personnel, universities, natural and cultural resources, transport capabilities, and available sites. Then regional images of the future were formed — not advertising slogans, but sets of projects for ten years. After that, clusters, campuses, industrial parks, tourist routes, programs for young families, and digital services for citizen participation were launched.

I can become the main driver of regional development. I can talk about a local idea, propose a project, open a workshop, create a tour, support a local producer, become a mentor, participate in improvement, write about my city, gather neighbors around a useful cause. It was precisely such actions that changed the atmosphere: the territory stopped waiting for external salvation and began to see its own strength.

«Futureiting» became a map of the future of regions. Users marked ideas by cities and regions, created postulates about factories, schools, parks, routes, technologies, cultural centers, and new jobs. The platform allowed comparing not regions among themselves, but the quality of their ideas, the contribution of participants, and the likelihood of implementation. Thus, regional development became a common creative process, where the future of the country was assembled from the future of specific places and real people ready to act.
